2019 Call to Submissions Reminder from the LGBTQ Resource Center at Gulfport Public Library
Call for Submissions Reminder - Submissions Deadline is September 30, 2018
The LGBTQ Resource Center is a project of the non-profit Circle of Friends of the Gulfport Public Library. The Resource Center provides collections, services and events throughout the year to the local LGBTQ community, its friends and family.
The center has announced ReadOut 2019 which will be held February 15-17, 2019. This premier lesbian literary event features 3 days of events for readers and writers. The 2019 keynote speaker and workshop leader Lesléa Newman award-winning poet and author for adults, children, and teens. Lesléa’s works include: Heather Has Two Mommies, A Letter to Harvey Milk; October Mourning: A Song for Matthew Shepard, Good Enough to Eat, and I Carry My Mother.
Submissions are sought for the following themes
Friday, Feb. 15: lesbian romance
Saturday, Feb. 16: fiction and non-fiction for lesbians
Sunday, Feb. 17: LGBTQ books for kids and teens
