Beauty for Ashes

BEAUTY FOR ASHES is Dr. Ruth Baskerville?s story of how she has managed her personal, profession, romantic and spiritual life over the four years since becoming a widow after forty-five years of marriage. The title comes from Isaiah 61:3, which assures those who are mourning that God will replace our unbearable sadness with strength, stamina ? beauty for ashes! Dr. Ruth proves, through her tender, but candid, true storytelling, that when we look for the bits of humor surrounding deep sadness after loss, we can find joy and contentment again. And when we strive beyond that natural fulfillment to seek and see God?s presence in our lives, we can achieve, as Dr. Ruth did, the ?peace that passeth all understanding.? This is not a blueprint for all grieving persons to heal, but it is a purposeful path towards embracing our ?new normal.? In FINDING HUMOR IN GRIEF, Dr. Ruth L. Baskerville recounts her sad and humorous life experiences after losing her one true love. BEAUTY FOR ASHES shows how and why life must go on, as Dr. Ruth deals with subjects like remembering the ?firsts,? dealing with male companionships, accepting unearned grace, and being fully aware of God?s miracles, signs and wonders in her life. It?s a transformative read!
