Sell Your Books at the Decatur Book Festival

Jul 31, 2018Programs and Events

The Florida Authors & Publishers Association invites its members to expand their market and sell their books at the 2018 Decatur Book Festival.

The AJC Decatur Book Festival is the largest independent book festival in the country and one of the five largest overall. Thousands of festival-goers will crowd the historic downtown Decatur square to enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children’s area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, poetry slams, writing workshops, and more.

The Festival will feature lectures and signings from more than 600 authors, including award-winners, best-sellers and some just getting started. More than 115 exhibitor booths will attract many Atlanta-area readers and shoppers.

To learn more about the festival, go to?www.decaturbookfestival.com.

FAPA has purchased a booth and is offering 3-hour and 4-hour signing slots for $100 and $125 each to members who wish to travel to Decatur to sign and sell their books. This is an ideal opportunity for authors and small publishers to expand their market outside of Florida. Because the price of renting a booth is expensive for an individual author (more than $650), taking advantage of this opportunity is a cost-effective way to connect with a larger group of buyers.

FAPA authors will bring their own books, marketing materials, payment systems, and will collect all payments from their sales. Each author will be given space on an entire 8-foot table. Participating authors will be responsible for their own travel expenses and accommodations.

Signing slots available include:

September 1, Saturday ? 10:00 AM ? 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM ? 6:00 PM ($125 for 4 hours)

September 2, Sunday ???? 12:00 PM ? 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM ($100 for 3 hours)

There are a total of eight slots available, four on Saturday and four on Sunday, so space will be given on a first-come first-serve basis.

For questions or to reserve your space, contact Jane R. Wood at jane.r.wood@myfapa.org.
